Moodboard for Carpenter Shop

Posted: January 17, 2011 in Moodboards

I am going to create a 3D tool shop, my inspiration for this comes from real life tool shops. I am aiming for over crowded look, almost messy. As my research showed most of the tool shops have the feel of over crowding. All tool shops have very less space to move and have various tools, paints, boxes, nails and many more.

The inspiration for Jason came of course from the very well know movies called ‘Jason’. However, in my story Jason will be modified and improved, instead of the knife he will carry a chainsaw.

Jacob/Jason character will be a typical horror character. His clothes will be blood/paint sprayed and scary mask/broken helmet will cover his face.

Moodboard for Jacob’s Father

My inspiration for Jacob’s father is the various characters from animated movies such as ‘Up’ and ‘Ratatouille’. I have also researched further and added some 2D drawings. This research inspired my character by directing me to what I have imagined Jacob’s father to look like.

Jacob’s father is a built up carpenter, has a square face and huge eyebrows. His whole physique indicates hard work, his face shows serious sometimes negative attitude towards others.

Moodboard for Jacob

I found my inspiration for the Jacob’s character in Hiccup. Hiccup is the outcast character in the recent production of How to Train Your Dragon. His character represents the majority kids in school, who feel that they don’t belong and are sometimes the laughing subject of the others. Hiccup is such character, he also looks up to his father the great dragon slayer.

Jacob, the main character in my project will be a curious child, who wants to explore new places. He will be a skinny child, not very tall and will have light brown hair.
